What you would like to know about Robi
What is Robi?
Robi is a hands-on artificial intelligence and future skills programme designed for levels ranging from Grade 3 in primary school to Grade 7 in middle school.
Throughout the programme, students learn to guide artificial intelligence correctly, evaluate its answers and use it consciously while producing their own work.
Which students is Robi suitable for?
The programme’s content is prepared according to students’ ages and grade levels. The language used in lessons, the scope of tasks and the work expected from students vary by level.
This means primary and middle school students work within the same basic approach, using content suited to their own developmental levels.
How long does the programme last?
Robi is an annual programme delivered regularly throughout an academic year.
Each class attends two Robi lessons per week. Each lesson lasts 40 minutes. The annual delivery schedule is prepared taking the school’s academic calendar and timetable into account.
Does the school have to start with all classes?
No. A school can deliver Robi to all its students at suitable levels, or start with only the grades or classes it selects.
The programme’s scope is determined by considering the school’s student numbers, class structure, timetable and delivery preferences together.
Who delivers the lessons?
Robi lessons are delivered by Robi educators who are familiar with the programme’s content and the system used.
Preparing lesson content, using the Robi software and delivering classroom sessions are the Robi team’s responsibility. School teachers are not expected to prepare additional lessons for the programme or deliver Robi lessons.
Does the school need to buy tablets?
No. Robi’s own tablets are used in the lessons.
The tablets, Robi software and lesson content arrive at the school ready to use. The school does not need to buy tablets or set up additional technical infrastructure for the programme.
What do students do in a Robi lesson?
Each lesson begins with an age-appropriate topic, question or task.
The student first thinks about the topic and forms their own approach. They then receive support from Robi limited to the task. They examine and question the answer and refine their instructions when necessary.
At the end of the lesson, they produce a text, idea, presentation, visual narrative or project that includes their own thinking.
Is Robi a children’s chatbot used on the open internet?
No. Robi is not an artificial intelligence application where children chat without limits on the open internet.
Lessons follow defined tasks. The student’s interaction with artificial intelligence stays within boundaries suited to the lesson topic and age group. The session is carried out under the Robi educator’s supervision.
Is the same content used in every class?
No. Although the programme shares a common basic approach, the language, content and difficulty of lessons vary according to students’ ages.
Tasks used at primary and middle school levels are prepared taking students’ developmental levels and learning needs into account.
How is Robi integrated into the school’s existing timetable?
Before delivery begins, the school’s weekly timetable, grade and class structure, and suitable lesson times are reviewed together.
This review determines the days and times for Robi lessons. The programme is planned to fit the school’s existing operations.
Can a demo lesson be held before the programme starts?
Yes. A demo lesson can be planned if the school management would like to see the programme in a classroom setting.
A demo lesson is not a prerequisite for joining the programme. It is held on request to help the school with its decision and planning process.
How does the process of joining the programme work?
The first step is to review the school’s student numbers, grade and class structure, timetable, and the levels it would like to include in the programme.
Based on this information, a delivery feasibility assessment is prepared for the school. The programme’s scope, required lesson hours, annual delivery schedule and operations plan are determined.
Once the scope is agreed with school management, the lesson timetable is created. When planning is complete, Robi begins delivery with its educators, tablets, software and prepared lesson content.
